Why did you become a teacher?

I wanted to give student-athletes the chance many teachers gave to me - an opportunity for a high quality education from someone who really cared to see me succeed as a person, and help to overcome the obstacles that stood in front of me.

Years teaching?

I have been teaching and coaching since 1997. El Toro HS(1997) - Student Teaching - World History & World Geography. Saddleback HS(1997-2000) - World History, Economics, U.S. Government, Assistant Coach with Wrestling & Freshmen Football. Santiago HS(2000-02) - U.S. & World History, Head Wrestling Coach, Freshmen assistant (2000), Varsity assistant & JV head coach (2001). Savanna HS(2002-2007) - World History, Economics, Government, Wrestling Head Coach, Varsity Football Defensive Coordinator, JV Football Head Coach. Marina HS(2007-present) - World History, Physical Education, Head Football Coach until 2009.

Interests & Hobbies

Studying the Bible and world religions. Discussing politics and social issues. Participating in various sports, including martial arts and weight training. Traveling (Countries visited - Mexico, Canada, Italy, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Czech Republic.). Camping.

Most memorable moment

1) My wedding day and witnessing the birth of all three of my kids. 2) Coaching a league championship football team (Savanna) & wrestling team(Santiago), and coaching several wrestlers to league championships & CIF placement. 3) Wins achieved at Marina as the head football coach. 4) Winning a league championship in football as a player & being a league & CIF champion wrestler(Estancia). 5) The day I was baptized.
